Metropolitan Cyril of Smolensk and Kaliningrad met with the Jerusalem Patriarch ( 05.06.2006 )

On 5 June 2006, Metropolitan Cyril of Smolensk and Kaliningrad, Chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate Department for External Church Relations and the Head of the Jerusalem Church, Patriarch Theophilus, discussed the Orthodox presence in the Holy Land and the mutual relations of the Russian and Jerusalem Churches. The meeting took place last Saturday during the visit of Metropolitan Cyril to the Holy Land. His Grace Cyril also attended the celebration of the 110th anniversary of the Russian St. Alexander’s dependency (metochion) in Jerusalem, which was opened for regular worship after its reconstruction.
