Orthodox in Russia mark the feast of Saint Vladimir the Baptizer ( 28.07.2006 )

Today the Orthodox in Russia marked the feast of the holy prince Vladimir, the baptizer of Russia. In the shrines there were festive services performed. In the Ural region hundreds of faithful arrived in Yekaterinburg to receive the holy Mystery of Baptism in the river Chusova, near the church of Prince Vladimir. This rite has been performed here for several years now, becoming a tradition. Most of the newly-baptized were children, despite the weather in Yekaterinburg today being cloudy and the water in the Chusova rather cold.
